Abolishment Of Electric Pot and Drinking Water Machine Standards
Announcement No.36,2005 by General Certification and Accreditation Administration
According to the requirements of announcement No. 146, 2005 by People’s Republic of China General Certification and Accreditation Administration and State Standardization Administration, the two National Standards (abbr. “abolished standards” as following) of GB 4706.6-1995 (“Safety of home electrical appliances and such device-special requirements of auto electrical pot”) and GB 4706.42-1999 (“Safety of home electrical appliances and such device -special requirements of heat/cold drinking water machine”) have been abolished since the date of announcement.
Since January 1, 2006, every authorized certification organizations and laboratories should carry out the compulsory certification/inspection works for electrical pot according to the standards of GB4706.1-1998 (“Safety of home electrical appliances and such device -Section One: General Requirements”), GB4706.19-2004 (“Safety of home electrical appliances and such device -special requirements of liquid heater”), GB4343-1995 (“Measure methods and Allowable Value of Radio Interference Characteristic of home appliances and such electric drive/electric heating appliance, electric power tool”), GB17625.1-2003 (“Electromagnetic Compatible Limit and Harmonic Current Radiation Limit (equipment input current/phase ≤ 16A)”); and carry out the compulsory certification/inspection works for cold/heat drinking water machine according to the standards of GB4706.1-1998 (“Safety of home electrical appliances and such device-Section One: General Requirements”), GB4706.19-2004 (“Safety of home electrical appliances and such device-special requirements of liquid heater”), GB4706.32-2004 (“Safety of home electrical appliances and such device-special requirements of refrigerating device, ice-cream machine and ice-maker). (All the standards mentioned in this paragraph will be called “substitute standards” for short.)
For the certificated products of China Compulsory Certification, the holder of certificate with abolished standards should submit the exchange application of certificate with substitute standards to authorized certification organization and complete sample inspection work by substitute standards during the date of January 1, 2006 to the date of next follow-inspection (but should complete before December 31, 2006). For the certificated products with abolished standards, certification organization should cancel the certificate with abolished standards if the holder didn’t get the certificate with substitute standards after the next follow-inspection.
